NCAA Bracket Predictions

The tremendous popularity of the NCAA Tournament is fueled, in no small part, by the masses great desire to make and benefit from NCAA Bracket Predictions. One of the best ways to win the office pool or snatch a chunk of greenbacks from the odds makers is to keep close tabs on star players. The NCAA Tournament is famous for, well, making people famous; it provides the perfect stage for some of the nation’s most talented amateur athletes to showcase their wares. However, those in the know like to lock on to these special individuals prior to the madness in order to spot the best NCAA Point Spreads.

Two notable MOPs that defied Final Four Odds and carried their teams to greatness:

Danny Manning (1988 Kansas Jayhawks): Kansas finished the season unranked and entered the NCAA Tournament as a six seed after procuring a 21-11 record (third in the Big Eight with a 9-5 conference record). Nonetheless, Manning put the Jayhawks on his shoulders and carried them all the way to the Final Four. Kansas defeated a Danny Ferry led Duke squad in the National Semifinal and it topped conference rival and Big 8 champion Oklahoma in the Final, ruining more than a few NCAA Bracket Predictions in the process. Manning finished the game with 31 points, 18 rebounds, two blocks, and five steals.

Kemba Walker (2011 Connecticut Huskies): Connecticut lost four of its last five regular season games and it finished ninth in the Big East regular season standings with a 9-9 conference record. The Huskies and their star point guard, Kemba Walker, got hot at the right time, though. UConn stormed its way to the Big East Tournament title, defeating DePaul, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Louisville, but it was just getting warmed up. The Huskies, led by Walker, became just the fifth three seed to win the NCAA Tournament as they mowed through Bucknell, Cincinnati, San Diego State, Arizona, Kentucky, and Butler en route to the championship. Walker averaged 23.5 points, 5.7 assists, and six rebounds per game for the tournament.
