World Series of Poker favorite Phil Ivey eliminatedThe most feared professional poker player, Phil Ivey was eliminated from Day 1c of the 2007 World Series of Poker. After his stack was whittled down to around $35,000, Phil Ivey came over the top for all his chips after a Kh/8c/Ac flop. His opponent called and showed Ah/8h for two pair, while Ivey had a flush draw with Qc/9c.

The 3h and 6s on the turn and river didn't complete Ivey's flush and one of the most feared players in the game has been eliminated. Sportsbook.com had made Phil Ivey one of the favorites to win the 2007 World Series of Poker with 75 to 1 odds.

Phil Ivey, also commonly referred to as “The Tiger Woods of Poker,” was born in California in 1976.  Later, his family moved to New Jersey and it is here that he mastered his poker playing skills. He learned how to play poker with his friends and family. Realizing tough times before his poker career and during the earlier days of his career, Phil Ivey has come a long way in the field.

Phil argues that his early career was difficult – before playing poker Phil Ivey had difficulty making ends meet financially. A far cry from the days when he could barely meet his bills, Phil has literally scratched and clawed his way to success
and is seen here with Gambling911.com's sexy reporter Jenny Woo at the 2005 Full Tilt Poker WSOP Party at the Wynn Hotel & Casino. Phil Ivey’s total winnings to date are nearing the 7 million dollar mark.

Phil Ivey has won World Series of Poker bracelets and 15 first place finishes. He is often seen at the final tables in the World Series of Poker tournaments and in 2006 he was part of The London All Star Challenge of the inaugural European Poker Masters. A year prior, Ivey won a million dollars in a Monte Carlo tournament and the very next day, in The FullTiltPoker.Net Invitational Live from Monte Carlo added an additional 600,000 dollars to his winnings.

Currently living in Las Vegas with his wife, whom Ivey asserts is tremendously supportive of his poker endeavors. Phil is a noted fan of the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers. His hobbies, ironically enough, include golf and video gaming. Ivey adores the challenge presented by poker, considering the game a quest.
