Novak Djokovic will chase his third Grand Slam title of the season as well as his fourth Wimbledon trophy when The Championships commence on June 27 at the All England Club. Opening 2016 Wimbledon Odds are favoring the Serbian great to succeed in his quest, lining him at -150 odds to retain the gentlemen’s cup, which he won each of the past two years.
Next on the odd’s makers list is the UK’s own Andy Murray, currently No. 2 in the ATP rankings. Murray, who ended England’s long Wimbledon drought when he won the title in 2013, is drawing a +350 line to win his third career Grand Slam title.
Murray did defeat Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 to secure his first and only Wimbledon championship; however, he is 10-24 lifetime against the Serb, including a 2-8 record in 10 Grand Slam meetings.
Third on the odds list is Roger Federer at +1200 ($100 wins $1200). Federer, of course, has 17 major titles to his credit and seven of those came at Wimbledon. The Swiss great last won The Championships in 2012, defeating Murray 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4. Federer also reached the Wimbeldon Finals in 2014 and 2015, losing to Djokovic in five and four sets, respectively.
Rounding out the top five 2016 Wimbledon favorites are Canada’s Milos Raonic and Australia’s Nick Kyrgios at +1400 and +2200 odds. Raonic advanced to the semis at Wimbledon in 2014 after knocking out Kyrgios 6-7, 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 in the quarters. The pair met again at the All England Club last year in the Round of 32; Kyrgios avenged his 2014 loss with a 5-7, 7-5, 7-6, 6-3 victory.
