Brewers vs Diamondbacks Game 4 MLB Playoffs 2011 Odds: The change in scenery did the D-Backs well, as they were able to evade elimination with a 8-1 blowout victory in Game 3 on the strength of Paul Goldschmidt’s Grand Salami. With Arizona needing to do it one more in order to force the rubber match at Miller Park Friday night, MLB Odds makers couldn’t list a favorite.
With everything on the line, MLB Point Spreads specialists couldn’t list neither the (2-1) Philadelphia Phillies [-105 ML] nor the (1-2) Arizona Diamondbacks [-105 ML] as the winner or losers in tonight’s Game 4! This game is set to get underway this evening from Chase Field at 9:30 PM ET and it’ll be broadcasted live on TBS following the Phillies-Cardinals game.
Game 4 will feature two left-handers going head-to-head in the pitching matchup. On the hill and trying to close the series out for the Brewers will be Randy Wolf (2011 Season: 13-10, 3.69 ERA) against the former Angel, Joe Saunders (2011 Season: 12-13, 3.69 ERA).
"They're kind of built like we are," Saunders said of the Brewers. "They're very similar to us. They've got speed, they've got guys that put it in play and they've got guys that can hit it out of the ballpark with ease."
If it comes down to postseason experience for these two pitchers, the D-Backs and the Phils would probably be dead even. Both guys have very limited exposure to the MLB Playoffs, but Saunders has pitched 15 innings to Wolf’s 9. I guess you can say the advantage goes to the D-Backs.
When looking at their ERA in the Playoffs, very little could be deduced, except that Wolf (5.00) barely tops Saunders (5.40) in that category. I guess here you can say the advantage goes to Philadelphia. This is going to be a nail-biter! Get $50 in Free MLB Picks Here!
“So they're tough. They're a tough team, especially in [Chase Field],” Wolf said. “They're one of those teams you really want to keep off base. You want to slow the game down because they have the tendency to bring the intensity on their side, and you want to slow that down. They're a good team, you've got to respect them.”
My Brewers vs Diamondbacks Game 4 MLB Playoffs 2011 Pick: The fact that the D-Backs are at home, and the way they finished the season with the Giants on their heels, encourages me to take them tonight! I like Arizona to win a close one and force the series back to Milwaukee for Game 5!
