The Dallas Mavericks will host their second home game in a row tonight when the Utah Jazz visit American Airlines Arena. The struggling Mavs and their Western Conference rivals will get things started at 9:00pm ET. Dallas last played on Wednesday night when they lost 97-104 to the Hornets. The Mavs rebounded from a five game November losing streak by winning nine of their next 10. Dallas, despite their current woes, is still just three and a half games back of the Spurs in the Southwest division with a 22-17 record. The Mavericks are 12-7 at home this season where they average 100.6 points per game. Utah, sporting a 24-16 record, is in third place in the Western Conference's Northwest division, but still just three games behind the first place Nuggets. They enter tonight's game with a lot more steam than the Mavericks, having won seven of their last 10 games, including last night's 101-91 victory at Memphis. The Jazz have, however, had their troubles on the road, going just 8-12 away from the Delta Center. Their offense has held up well in opposing arenas, averaging 98.2 points per game (ninth best away scoring average in the league), but their defense has been suspect, giving up an average of 100.8 points per game to host teams.
