The Miami Heat, coming off a Wednesday night loss in Detroit, are in Pennsylvania this evening for a another meeting with an Eastern Conference rival. The game tips off at 7:00pm ET at the Wachovia Complex in Philadelphia. Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers NBA Picks at Bodoglife.com have the 76ers listed as a -3.5 home favorite. The 76ers, at 24-24, currently sit in second place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic division. They trail the Celtics by 16 games, but they have a slim two game lead over third place New Jersey. Philadelphia, which just recently found out that their big off-season aquisition — forward Elton Brand — would be out for the remainder of the year, recorded a 99-94 victory over Indiana in their last outing. Neither team shot particularly well in the game, but all of the 76ers starters did manage to hit double figures in scoring. Willie Green led the team with 23 points, but it was center Samuel Dalembert that had the biggest impact, grabbing 20 boards and dropping in six baskets as well as six free throws. Philadelphia is 14-11 at the Wachovia Complex this season and 15-15 versus Eastern Conference foes. They are averaging 98 points per game at home and they have given up an average of 93.1 to visitors. Miami comes into tonight's contest having won just five of their last 10 games. Their latest misstep occurred against the Pistons Wednesday night in Detroit. The Heat dropped the game 90-93 after hitting just 38 percent of their field goal attempts. The loss moved their record against Eastern Conference teams to 14-11, and it dropped their road record to 10-14 on the year. Despite their mediocre play in recent weeks, the Heat have stayed above the five-hundred mark. Their 26-22 record has them sitting in third place in the Southeast division, trailing the first place Magic by 10.5 games and the second place Hawks by two and half. Miami is averaging 97.2 points per game away from home on 44.4 percent shooting and they are 12-11-1 against the spread on the road. They are 1-0 against Philadelphia this season after beating the 76ers 106-83 back in November. Bodoglife.com's Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers NBA Picks: Miami Heat +3.5 (-110), Over 193 (-110) Philadelphia 76ers -3.5 (-110), Under 193 (-110) NBA Picks Betting Trend: The Under is 8-2 in Philadelphia's last 10 games as a home favorite with a spread between 0 to 3.5. |
