NBA All-Star Weekend is upon us, officially getting underway tonight at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto with the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and the Rising Stars Challenge. The real action begins tomorrow night, though, as the Saturday lineup features the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, Foot Locker Three-Point Contest and Verizon Slam Dunk Contest. The actual All-Star Game is scheduled to tip off at 8:30pm ET on Valentine’s Day.
Opening 2016 NBA All-Star Game Odds from offshore bookmaker Bovada.lv have the Western Conference All-Stars favored at -5 against the spread while the game total is set at 312 points.
The Eastern Conference holds a significant 37-27 edge over the West; however, the Western Conference dominated the annual exhibition clash in recent years, taking four of the last five, including last year’s meeting in New York.
The 2015 contest saw Russell Westbrook score 41 points in just over 25 minutes off the bench for the West, giving him and his fellow West All-Stars a 163-158 victory. Chris Paul dished out 15 assists in the win while James Harden added 29 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
LeBron James led the East with 30 points; Atlanta’s Kyle Korver, playing in a reserve role, added 21 points after knocking down 7-of-12 from beyond the arc.
All of those players are back for this year’s game save Korver. For the complete 2016 NBA All-Star Game roster as well as odds for the Three-Point and Slam Dunk Contests, see below.
