Updated 2016 NBA Finals Odds

2016 nba finals oddsCan the Warriors fight their way to a second straight NBA title? The basketball odds makers at Bovada.lv definitely think so, making Golden State a -140 favorite to win the championship in their updated 2016 NBA Finals odds. The Cleveland Cavaliers, who were foiled by Stephen Curry and company in last year’s Finals, are a second pick at +350 odds. The bookmaker’s third choice is perennial contender San Antonio with a +375 line.

While there may be a team or two capable of spoiling the Warriors’ back-to-back championship aspirations, they are the obvious first choice here. Golden State owns a league best 50-5 record, putting them in the driver’s seat for home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Playing against the Warriors in Oakland is not something any team, including the Cavs and Spurs, wants to do. Curry and his more than capable cohorts are a perfect 24-0 at home this season and they were 9-2 as host in the 2015 NBA Playoffs. And to put a cherry on what looks like a championship sundae, the Warriors are 3-0 against Cleveland and San Antonio this season, beating the Cavs and Spurs by an average of 23.3 points per game.

Outside of those three clubs, titles chances fall rather sharply. The Thunder at +800 odds are still something of a viable threat to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy, but the fifth team on Bovada’s list, the LA Clippers, are a +2000 pick. After Los Angeles, it goes Toronto, Boston and Chicago at +4000 odds each; that trio is followed by Atlanta and Miami, who complete the bookmaker’s top 10 title favorites, at +7500 odds apiece.
