Boston is presently first in the Atlantic Division, but the team is fourth in the East and 10.5 games back of the Cavaliers and 4.5 games ahead of the fifth place Heat.
The Celtics, which are 4-4 in their last eight road games, are 2-1 in three meetings with Chicago this season. Kevin Garnett and company lost to the Bulls 83-96 in January, but they beat them 106-80 (at Chicago) and 118-90 (home) prior to that.
Chicago got a huge win on Sunday, beating the Raptors 104-88 on the road to jump past Toronto into the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot. The Bulls, which are 23-17 at home this season, got 26 points from Derrick Rose and 19 rebounds from Joakim Noah in the key win.
Chicago cannot afford to rest, though, as they have just a half game lead over the Raptors with two games left on the schedule. The Bulls play at Charlotte on Wednesday to close things out while Toronto faces New York to finish up.
