Offensively Los Angeles hit 33 of their 79 field goal attempts for a lackluster 41.8 percent. Once again, Bryant led the way with 26 points on 9-of-19 shooting; Ron Artest and Pau Gasol added 15 and 17 points, respectively. Gasol also had 13 boards, nine assists, and three blocks.
Both of these teams are in uncharted waters tonight as neither has faced a game seven in these playoffs. In fact, only the Lakers, between the two squds, have faced an elimination game this postseason. Expect another top-notch defensive effort from Los Angeles and a whole lot more fight from the Celtics. The Lakers should get their second consecutive championship and fifth of the Kobe era, but Boston will cover the seven points.
