2010 NBA Draft Prop Bets: Two of the hottest prospects on the board in tonight's NBA Draft are Syracuse's Wesley Johnson and Kentucky's DeMarcus Cousins. Most draft gurus feel that the 6' 7" Johnson would be a perfect fit with the Minnesota Timberwolves, which have the number four pick this evening. Minnesota ranked 20th in the league in scoring last season at 98.2 per game and it averaged a stellar 42.9 rebounds per outing; however, the Timberwolves abysmal defense (107.8 points per game allowed – second worst in the NBA) led to a 15-67 record.
There is no question that Johnson would be an immediate contributer on both ends of the floor for Minnesota, and he would be a great addition to a good, young nucleus as the team looks toward a bright future.
DeMarcus Cousins had a huge impact on the Kentucky Wildcats last season, helping the young squad to a 35-3 record and Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The 6' 11" freshman averaged 15.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game for John Calipari and established himself as a top 10 lock in tonight's draft.
Cousins could make his way into the top four with New Jersey being the most likely taker at No. 3, but the rumor mill has the Nets jumping on Georgia Tech freshman Derrick Favors and Cousins slipping to the Kings at No. 5.
