Heat at Celtics NBA Picks: Finally, the day is here when the new-look Miami Heat take the floor to play their first game – or one that counts anyway – with their powerhouse lineup of LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Of course, Tuesday's opening game will not be an easy one for Miami as they must open on the road against the Boston Celtics, a team that has its own great lineup of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett. These two teams tip it off at TD Garden Arena at 7:35 PM ET.
Sportsbook.com lists the Heat as slight 1 1/2-chalk favorites with a 188 betting total.
While these players are the central cog of both teams, there are a few injuries that could affect the teams performances in tonight's game. Shaquille O'Neil and Jermaine O'Neil picked up some bumps and bruises while Dwayne Wade did not participate in any of Miami's pre-season games. Then to add more misery, it looks like the Heat will be without Mike Miller until January.
"There’s so much excitement, but the teams for game one are not going to be at the point where everyone expects them to be," LeBron James said. "Everyone expects us to be at March. But Boston won’t be there and we won’t be there. Both teams will play hard and both teams will give themselves a chance to win.”
LeBron is correct with his assessment; that's why I like Boston tonight giving -1 1/2 ATS.
