Louisville and Kentucky will meet for the 20th time in school history with the Wildcats owning a 10-9 advantage. The Cardinals have won the last four meetings and seven of the last eight against the Wildcats. This is the first meeting between Louisville first year coach Steve Kragthorpe and Kentucky coach Rich Brooks.

The Cardinals looked sharp offensively in last weeks win over Middle Tennesse, scoring on 10 of 13 drives and compiling 729 yards of total offense. Sophomore running back Anthony Allen set the school record for rushing yards in a game with 275 on 35 carries.

Senior quarterback Brian Brohm threw for a career-best 401 yards and five touchdowns, while three receivers had 100-yard games in Harry Douglas (100 yards), Mario Urrutia (142 yards) and Gary Barnidge (126 yards).

Kentucky has benefitted from balanced offensive production in each of its two games this season.The Wildcats had 266 yards rushing and 218 yards passing against Kent State. In the season-opener vs.Eastern Kentucky, the Wildcats set a school record for balanced offense with 288 rushing and 280 passing yards (minimum 280 in each category). UK currently ranks seventh in the nation and second in the Southeastern Conference in scoring offense, averaging 53.0 points per game.
