Oregon vs. Stanford College Football Picks: The No. 7 ranked Oregon Ducks (7-1), with a firm grip on the Pac 10 standings head down to Palo Alto, Calif., for a conference battle with the improving Stanford Cardinal (5-3, 4-2 Pac 10) today at 3:40 pm ET.

College football picks oddsmakers at super-sportsbook Bodog.com list the Ducks as 7 1/2-chalk favorites versus the Cardinal with a 59 total. Stanford backers are getting +240 moneyline odds as a home underdog.

Oregon needs a win to keep alive hopes of making it to the BCS title game while Stanford needs one more win to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2001. The key matchup would have been Stanford linebacker Clinton Snyder vs. Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, but Snyder will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his left knee in practice Tuesday. The Cardinal need pressure on Masoli, who has rushed for 18 touchdowns in 19 career games and is averaging 6.3 yards per carry this season.

The Ducks have seemed like a team on a mission since their opening season loss at Boise State. While some folks might see today's game at Stanford as a trap situation, the Ducks have been relentless all year since that first loss. Oregon should get a win today and cover the -7 1/2-chalk spread.

LSU vs. Alabama College Football Picks PDF Print E-mail

LSU vs. Alabama College Football Picks: No. 3 ranked  Alabama will try to hold off the hard charging No. 9 Tigers of LSU when the two SEC West rivals play a game at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with kickoff time for the CBS televised game set for 3:30 pm ET Saturday.

College football picks oddsmakers at SPORTSBETTING.COM list the Crimson Tide as 7 1/2-chalk favorites versus the Tigers with a 40 total.

After sputtering in the early going, it seems the LSU offense is starting to build up some steam and that's a good thing considering Tigers quarterback Jordan Jefferson will be leading his offense against the No. 4 best defense in America. The Tigers are coming off their best offensive outing of the season in their 42-0 win over Tulane on Halloween night in Death Valley.

Offensively, the Tigers are averaging 26.4 points and 325.1 yards per game. Jefferson has connected on 123 of 193 passes for 1,421 yards, 11 TDs and just four interceptions. Scott leads the Tigers ground attack with 459 yards and four scores, while Brandon LaFell (37 rec., 478 yards, 8 TDs) and Terrance Toliver (38 rec., 501 yards, 3 TDs) combine to form the league's top receiving tandem.

The Tide defense is allowing just 240.88 yards per game, but Alabama also ranks second in the country in pass efficiency defense, surrendering an 88.81 opponent passer rating. UA ranks tied for 14th nationally while leading the SEC in sacks with 2.88 per game. Defensive end Marcell Dareus leads the Tide with 4.5 (-32) while Javier Arenas and Eryk Anders are second with 4.0. Rolando McClain leads the Crimson Tide with 57 total tackles and 33 solo stops. He has 7.0 tackles for loss (-28), two sacks (-19), two interceptions, a pass breakup, a forced fumble and seven quarterback hurries. Terrence Cody boasts 17 tackles, including 5.0 tackles for loss (-10) a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries.

Greg McElroy has been impressive in his first eight games as the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback, completing 60.0 percent (121 of 202) of his passes for 1,445 yards and nine touchdowns with only three interceptions. Julio Jones, has 20 receptions for 229 yards, an 11.4 yards per catch average and one touchdown.

Tiger coach Les Miles has won four road games over top 10-ranked SEC teams in his five years with the Tigers.  Miles is 4-3 overall vs. top 10-ranked teams in road games at LSU. The wins have come over Alabama (2005), Tennessee (2006), Arkansas (2006) and Auburn (2008).

College Football Pick: This game will be all about defense and while LSU is good and talented, the Tide rules in this category. Alabama should pull this game out but look for LSU to keep it close and cover as a +7 1/2-dog.

Ohio State vs. Penn State College Football Picks: No. 11 Penn State hosts No. 16 Ohio State in a battle for a chance to win the BIG TEN title. If the Buckeyes can defeat the Nittany Lions and then beat No. 4 Iowa next week, they will have the best chance of winning the championship. Penn State, like the Buckeyes, have a chance to share the conference title if they can win out and hope for an Ohio State victory over Iowa next week.

Ohio State vs. Penn State College Football PicksCollege football picks oddsmakers at online sportsbook Bodog.com list the Nittany Lions as 6-chalk favorites versus Ohio State with a 39 total. Buckeyes backers are getting +170 moneyline odds as a road underdog.

Both teams could use a signature win to improve their resumes for a BCS bowl berth. Ohio State hosts Iowa next week, but this will be Penn State's last chance to play a ranked foe with Indiana and Michigan State left on its schedule. The winner also solidifies a hold on second place in the BIG TEN and will be in position to move up should the unbeaten Hawkeyes falter. A loss could threaten Ohio State's streak of at least a share of four straight BIG TEN titles.

College Football Picks: Take Ohio State and the +6-chalk.

Central Florida vs. Texas College Football Picks: The No. 2 (BCS) ranked University of Texas Longhorns football team will step out of BIG 12 play this Saturday (Nov. 7) to host the University of Central Florida Knights of Conference-USA in a college football game at Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. Kickoff for this FSN televised game is set for Noon ET.

College Football Picks oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com list the Longhorns as 35-chalk favorites versus the Knights with a 50 total.

While the Longhorns are currently 8-0 SU, gambling fans haven't been so fortunate backing the Longhorns ATS, especially in large point-spreads as todays game (Texas giving -35). In eight board lined games, Texas has only covered three times with one push and four losses. Texas failed to cover ATS against Louisiana-Monroe (-45), Wyoming (-31.5), Colorado (-34) and Texas Tech (-19.5). The only big spread Texas managed to cover was as a -36 favorite versus Texas El Paso. So if you're looking for a pretty good betting value, take UCF and the +35 points.

Central Florida defeated Marshall 21-20 as a 7-point favorite in Week 9. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (43). Brett Hodges passed for 342 yards with two touchdowns for UCF and Brynn Harvey rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in the win. Texas scored 21 points in the second quarter en route to a 41-14 victory over Oklahoma State in Week 9. Texas easily covered the 9.5-point spread, while the 55 points made it OVER the posted total of 53.5.

Cody Johnson ran for 32 yards off nine carries with a pair of touchdowns.

Syracuse at Pitt College Football Picks: The Orangemen of Syracuse University travel to Pittsburgh, Penn., on Saturday to take on the Pitt Panthers in an early BIG EAST battle at Heinz Field with kickoff for the ESPNU televised game set for 12:00 noon ET. The Panthers are 7-1 on the season with a conference mark of 4-0 and are tied atop the league with Cincinnati. Syracuse has a 3-5 overall record and are last in the league with an 0-3 BIG EAST record.

College football picks oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com list Pitt as 22-chalk favorites versus the Panthers with a 49 total.

Greg Paulus threw for 84 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Syracuse in a 28-7 loss to Cincinnati in Week 9. The Orange did not cover the 16.5-point spread, while the final score played UNDER the day's posted total of 52.

Bill Stull led the way with two touchdown passes as Pittsburgh beat South Florida 41-14 in Week 8. The Panthers covered the 6-point spread, while the final score played OVER the day's posted total of 48.

College football picks: It's not often we like giving a three touchdown chalk but in this case we see it. Take the Panthers -22.
