Thursday and Friday college football action heats up this week with 10 games scheduled between the two nights. North Carolina and No. 23 Pittsburgh open Thursday’s six game slate, which also features a meeting between West Virginia and No. 5 TCU as well as Oregon and Arizona State. Saturday’s biggest game pits No. 9 Notre Dame against No. 21 Temple at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The undefeated Owls are looking to crash the CFB Playoff party, but that will not happen without a win over the Fighting Irish.
Notre Dame is the first ranked opponent Temple has faced all season and it comes in well rested, having last played on October 18. The odds makers like the Irish to hand the Owls their first loss, lining them as a 10-point road favorite.
Notre Dame is 7-1 straight up but 2-6 against the spread in its last six games playing as a road favorite coming off a him win; the Under was 7-1 in those same eight games.
In addition to TCU and Notre Dame, No. 3 Clemson, No. 8 Stanford and No. 10 Iowa are the only other top 10 teams in action this weekend. The Tigers are favored by 10 over North Carolina State, the Cardinal are laying 13 at Washington State and the Hawkeyes are giving 17 points to visiting Maryland.
