Washington will look to build off its 17-13 upset of Stanford last Thursday night by taking out No. 2 Oregon at Autzen Stadium this Saturday. It is safe to say the odds makers do not like the Huskies chances of pulling off a second consecutive stunner as the Ducks are a-24 against the spread home favorite in the latest College Football Point Spreads. This weekend’s meeting between the Pac-12 North Division rivals is scheduled to kickoff at 10:30pm ET on October 6th; the game will be televised live on ESPN.
Washington Huskies vs Oregon Ducks (-24): What did Washington’s upset win over Stanford earn it? A 24 spread against the No. 2 Oregon. The Huskies should not interpret this as a sign of disrespect but, rather, as a statement about the Ducks’ prowess. Washington’s defense has played well this season, limiting its opposition to an average of 315 yards per game, but it has yet to face an offense like Oregon’s fast break unit. The Ducks are averaging 52.4 points per game on the season, and that number could be even higher had they not called off the dogs in at least two of their games. Unlike Stanford, Oregon will have plenty of answers for the Washington defense, but it is unlikely the Huskies come up with an answer for Chip Kelly’s crew. The Ducks have won the last eight in this series (average margin of victory 25.3 points) and they covered the spread in seven of those eight games. Making matters worse for Washington is Oregon’s recent track record as a college football picks home favorite in the month of October with a total of 54.5 or more points. The Ducks are 10-0 straight up and 7-2-1 against the spread in their last 10 games in the aforementioned situation.
