The Point-Spreads.com NBA special Friday night hoops play has the NBA Southeast Division leader Washington Wizards (24-17 SU, 18-20-3 ATS) traveling to Detroit to take on the Central Division front-runner Pistons (24-16 SU, 20-20 ATS) from the Palace of Auburn Hills with tip-off at 8 p.m. EST. The game will be televised by ESPN.
Tonight’s game will be the third between the two teams on the season with the Pistons taking the first pair. Detroit defeated the Wizards in Auburn Hills on Nov. 17th 100-91 SU and covered – 4 ½ ATS and in Washington D.C., on Nov. 25th, 115-111 and covering the +2 ½ -point line. Bodog.com is offering the Pistons as the favorite with a minus 5-point chalk and a total of 204.Newly acquired power forward Chris Webber has fit in nicely with the Pistons over the past week helping the team to three straight up wins in a row and a 3-0 record ATS. The Wizards are winners of four of their last five games SU but have lost three of five ATS with one win and a push.

The Wizards could possibly catch the Pistons at a vulnerable time with tonight’s game being their third game in six days including a short road swing down to Charlotte on Wednesday. Washington has not played a game since Tuesday (Jan. 23) in its home date with Phoenix and should be well rested. There is no doubt the Wizards will not want to go down three games to the Pistons only at the mid-season mark.

The last three season-series between the Wizards and Pistons have ended in series sweeps. Detroit emerged victorious in all three games three seasons ago, and took all four games from Washington two season’s back, before the Wizards answered with a 3-0 sweep of their own last year.
