Is Bill Clinton going to fight Hillary's political battles against the Republicans this fall if his wife earns the Democratic Party's 2008 Presidential Nomination?  Sportsbook.com has Hillary Clinton the favorite with 6 to 5 odds to become the next President of the United States but you would have never guessed that by the way Slick Willy is behaving on the South Carolina Democratic Primary campaign trail.

In typical Bill Clinton politics, the former President accuses the media of drumming up racial issues and accuses Barack Obama's camp of spoon-feeding the media racially angled stories.  Bill is playing dirty pool and degrading the office of President with the way he is attacking Barack Obama.  The Clinton Camp is hoping that words like "cocaine" and "slum lord" will resonate in white voters unconscious minds when they think of Obama.

"He can be as vigorous an advocate on behalf of her as he would like. The only thing I've been concerned about is when he makes misstatements about my record," the Illinois senator said.

Bill is the strongest and most effective candidate surrogate in political history.  Slick Willy has earned his nickname in this campaign and there has even been talk about Clinton wanting people to continue to consider him "First Black President".

"I think Bill Clinton did have an enormous affinity to the Black Community.....I would have to explore his dancing ability a bit more before I could label him a Brother" stated Barack Obama when asked about Clinton being considered the "First Black President".

"As long as he is careful with the truth, I don't think any of us in any way resent his campaigning. But the fact that he has shaded things and he has tried to manipulate the facts in a way that is patently unfair, I think that is frankly flat wrong and I think it's demeaning." — Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., who has endorsed Obama.

How can Hillary unite the country as President of the United States, which includes winning Republican votes to do so, if she cannot even unite her own party?  Hillary Clinton, by allowing this to happen, is helping to weaken the Democratic Party's ability to unite behind her as the party leader that can regain control of the White House in 2008 after an 8 year absents.

President Bill Clinton is actually helping the Republican Party by attacking Barack Obama with racial slurs.  Almost 15% of United States voters believe Barack Obama is a Muslim, when in reality he is Christian.

"When I was running, I didn't give a rip what anybody said about me," Clinton said at a campaign stop outside Columbia, S.C. "It's weird, you know, but if you love somebody and you think that they'd be good, it's harder."

If Barack Obama can survive and win the 2008 Democratic Presidential Nomination, he will be battled tested for the Republican attack as the Presidential Race heats up over the summer and into the fall.  But Obama backers have to get their candidate past South Carolina first.  Right now the Illinois Senator is the favorite to win the South Carolina Democratic Primary at 1 to 6 odds at Sportsbook.com.  Barack has to win South Carolina to prove his viability with black voters but he has to be more than the black candidate to secure the 2008 Democratic Presidential Nomination.

The racial issue has a clear winner though and that is John Edwards.  The Carolina native son is winning over whites at a 3 to 1 clip over a sliding Obama. Racial polarization could end Barack Obama Presidential Campaign.  After the South Carolina Primary results are in, we will see if this sort of racial polarization will force a Clinton/Obama ticket to reunite the Democratic base and go after the Republicans in 2008 Presidential Race.  Sounds like Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream ticket and just the advantage the Democrats will need to regain control of the White House.

Sportsbook.com has posted political betting odds to win the South Carolina Democratic Primary:

Hillary Clinton: 7-2

Barack Obama: 1-6

Field (Any Other Candidate): 50-1

John Edwards: 25-1
