UEFA Champions League soccer is off a running. All the superstars, high payrolled teams and huge underdogs are all hoping to be crowned UEFA Champions. FC Barcelona won their third overall UEFA Champions title last year, while Real Madrid looks to be the most successful club winning for the 10th time. The final kicks off, May 22, 2010, at the Santiago Bernabéu, home of Real Madrid. Soccer oddsmakers at Sportsbetting.com have FC Barcelona as +375 moneyline favorite to win the 2009-10 UEFA Champions League Title. Be sure to get your 2009 UEFA Champions League Title Picks in now at Sportsbetting.com and start winning today!

Top Two UEFA Champions League Favorites:

Barcelona
- "Being humble" remains the key for Josep Guardiola as his FC Barcelona side look to make history by winning a second successive UEFA Champions League title. If there is one team that isn't favourite to win the title, then it's us because no one has won the Champions League two years in row. We have confidence after winning the competition last year, but we know we have to work hard for it again like we did last season. By being humble we were able to win, but you have to prove that every day, that's what football is about.

Real Madrid - have assembled a world-class squad, and if the players understand it is a collective effort it will be easier for them. There are so many games and by rotating the squad everyone will feel part of it – some more than others – but it's the collective that raises the individual. We talk to the players about this because it's very important they understand. We have the potential to win everything and that's what we intend to do.

2010 World Cup Qualifying: USA vs Mexico Odds & Prediction PDF Print E-mail
Written by Scott Burgess
Wednesday, 12 August 2009
The second leg of World Cup Qualifying between the United States and Mexico kicks off today, Wednesday August 12, at Estadio Azteca in Mexico. The USA won their first meeting in February 2-0, but the Mexicans rebounded with a devastating 5-0 win during the Gold Cup Final. World Cup qualifying oddsmakers at BetUS.com have Mexico as -125 moneyline favorites over USA (+300) with the over/under listed at 2.5 goals. Be sure to get your 2010 World Cup Qualifying: USA vs Mexico Odds & Prediction in now at BetUS.com

USA are still riding the high of their Confederation Cup showing. Count their achievements of beating the African champion of Egypt, Spain (ranked No. 1 in the world by FIFA at the time), and pushing Brazil to the brink in the Final. Landon Donovan, the United States’ MVP of the Confederations Cup, has not shown any lack of form since returning to MLS. His most recent goal cements the fact that Donovan is playing with the most confidence and ability in his career. USA currently sits in second place, in the N/C American & Caribbean League Group, with a 3W-1D-1L record where they have 10 goals for and six goals allowed. The American side have NEVER won on Mexican soil, their best finish was a goalless draw in a 1997 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Their most recent loss to Mexico was against a young USA side that didn't include stars such as Landon Donovan. On Wednesday USA Coach Bob Bradley will field a full-strength team as the Americans vie for a first-ever victory over Mexico at Azteca. Coach Bradley has recalled a number of players who skipped the Gold Cup, including defender Oguchi Onyewu of AC Milan, Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey, Hull City's Jozy Altidore and the Los Angeles Galaxy's Donovan.

Mexico received a massive morale boost heading into the match with a 5-0 victory over the United States in the CONCACAF Gold Cup final on 26 July. Mexico has the advantage with the altitude, poor air quality and fiercely partisan crowd of 100,000 all play a role. They’ll use all of the outside influences to their advantage. Mexico head into the match lying in fourth place in the six-nation final group, they are 2W-0D-3L with three goals for and six goals allowed. Mexico coach Javier Aguirre's squad includes his Gold Cup champions along with defender Carlos Salcido (PSV Eindhoven), Andres Guardado (Deportivo La Coruna) and veteran Cuauhtemoc Blanco (Chicago Fire). Aguirre replaced Sven Goran Eriksson in April and after a defeat at El Salvador saw his side down Trinidad and Tobago in FIFA World Cup qualifying on 10 June.  Despite Mexico's struggles in this qualifying campaign, Aguirre insists his side have what it takes. "It's not a dark scenario," he said. "Why the heck were we going to be out of the World Cup? They have to give us a chance. If there was one game left and we had to win and have two rivals lose, then I would say it was tough. But things are different. Things have improved."

2009 FIFA Confederation Cup: USA VS Italy Prediction PDF Print E-mail
Written by Scott Burgess
Monday, 15 June 2009
USA faces Italy in 2009 FIFA Confederation Cup action today, Monday June 15, as USA hopes to beat Italy for the first time in over 75 years. Their last meeting was a 1-1 draw in group stages of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. FIFA oddsmakers at Bodog.com have Italy as -175 moneyline favs over USA (+450) with a draw listed at +250. Be sure to get your 2009 FIFA Confederation Cup: USA VS Italy Prediction in now at Bodog.com

USA are currently in fine form, losing only twice in their last 13 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ qualifiers and fresh off a come-from-behind win over Honduras just seven days ago. The Americans arrived in Africa with a strong, youthful squad. Coach Bob Bradley, who took over from former mentor Bruce Arena after the failures of the last FIFA World Cup finals in Germany in 2006, has assembled a team bristling with spirit and optimism, if a little short on experienced campaigners. USA will need Landon Donovan to be at his best with the help of his teammates. Six members of the current US squad were in the team that drew 1-1 with the Azzurri in group stages of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. It was the only point the Americans managed in a demoralizing campaign in Germany, and it was earned the hard way. They can be happy with a draw against Italy knowing that they can at least compete with the best in the world. They have confidence with players such as youngsters Freddy Adu and Jozy Altidore all the way on up to veterans like skipper Carlos Bocanegra, Clint Dempsey and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard, the same positivity is seen. As Howard said: "We're nobody's favourite for the title. We know that. But we're going to scratch, claw and fight to get some results here." It's a tall order for USA here in South Africa. Up against not only Italy but also Brazil in the first round, they have their work cut out.

Italy is blessed with world-class talent throughout their team and they are on top of European Zone qualifying Group 9 for South Africa 2010, but they have not played a competitive match since 1 April. Italy has never lost to the USA. The last clash between the two ended in a 1-1 draw, in Kaiserslautern at World Cup Germany 2006. Italy will have ten players returning from the ferocious 2006 World Cup team and they’ll have at their disposal a bevy of lethal strikers in the form of Luca Toni, Alberto Gilardino, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Giuseppe Rossi and Fabio Quagliarella. Some tall and powerful, some smaller and trickier, all deadly in front of goal, the Azzurri frontline has scored no fewer than 10 times in their last two friendlies.
